Today I’m stepping outside of my ‘nice’ box to turn into the bad, biker you-know-what. I’m tired of all the complaining that is going on and I’m not only talking about my kids. It’s adults. We have turned into a nation of whiners who feel a certain entitlement. (Yes, from time to time, I whine too so present company included.)
There’s a simple cure for everything we’re whining about:
Stop eating junk food and go to the gym.
I hate my job.
Either suck it up or go find a new one.
I don’t have enough money.
Stop spending it on stuff you don’t need.
My marriage is a mess.
Stop being selfish, get off your duff, and do something about it.
I didn’t get the promotion.
Did you deserve the promotion or just thought it was owed to you?
I don’t have time to play with my kids.
Stop working late, stop watching TV, stop surfing the web and just play.
This meatloaf tastes gross.
Make it yourself.
My house is a mess.
Hire a maid or start picking stuff up.
The time we waste whining and complaining is better spent either finding a solution or simply doing the opposite of what we’re complaining about. It’s that simple. Besides… the person you’re whining to doesn’t really care… they have their own set of problems.
Cure for whining? We all just need to build a bridge and get over it!
